Blood and CSF Biomarker Best Practice Guidelines
Webinar Date: Tuesday, January 27, 2026
Time: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM PT / 2:00 - 3:00 PM ET
About this webinar: Join the ADRC Biomarker Best Practices Workgroup in this one-hour webinar to learn more about their newly released Guidelines for CSF and Blood. The workgroup will do an overview of their recommendations, share details about their approach and provide context for decision-making. There will be time for audience Q&A.
Released in Summer 2025, the following recommendations are intended to be guiding principles for ADRCs for the collection, processing, and storage of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood for Alzheimer’s disease biomarker research purposes. Such guidelines will foster data harmonization across ADRCs while still encouraging Center investigators to explore novel CSF and blood Alzheimer's disease biomarkers and study the optimization of pre-analytic collection and storage methods. These guidelines were developed with consideration of available evidence to date on optimal pre-analytic procedures with the understanding that many areas require more research.
These guidelines are accessible on the Best Practices page on the NACC Website
